Theme song for Code Lyoko

Noam, full name Noam Kaniel (born Aug. 18, 1962 in Israel) is a singer and composer, who has released several records, and is known for performing the theme song of the animated series Code Lyoko.

Noam began singing at the age of eight before being spotted in 1972 by Mike Brant and then by producer Haim Saban in Israel. He falls into the vein of child singers in vogue in the 1970's after the success of Poppys and Romeo in 1970 and 1973. He recorded several 45-rpm records between 1974 and 1977.

Noam recorded the first generic Goldorak in 1978. His interpretation gave him celebrity status in France (over 4 million units sold). Noam sings one of his own songs and some other generic cartoons (including Entrechats or The Fantastic Four), but he prefers to leave the song and share work in the United States as an engineer.

In 1980, he starred in his own Israeli film vehicle, 'Kohav Hashahar' (Morning Star), a drama where he played an aspiring adolescent singer who tries to help his fisherman father out of ruin. This performance unfortunately didn't lead to lasting fame in his homeland.

Having outgrown his child singer image in the 1980's, he made sporatic appearances, usually singing television or cartoon theme songs, notably "I Have the Power" from 'The Secret of the Sword' in 1985 (a duet with Erika Scheimer), the theme from 'Mask' as well as the French version of 'Popples'.

After an absence of more than 10 years, he has returned to the field of music as a composer (composition, choir) for artists as varied as Mireille Mathieu, Hélène Ségara, Patrick Fiori, Lorie, Julie Zenatti or Lâam, while preparing his next album. He is also a composer of many generic television series.
