Noakhali Sadar is located at 22.8333° N 91.1000° E. It has 115330 units of house hold and total area 1071.66 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Noakhali Sadar has a population of 651620. Males constitute are 50.18% of the population, and females 49.82%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 293851. Noakhali Sadar has an average literacy rate of 30.1% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
