Request for Adminship
Congratulations! Consensus having been reached, it is my pleasure to inform you that you are now an administrator on the English Wikipedia. Please take a moment to review the Administrators' reading list and the Administrators' how-to guide before using any of your shiny new buttons. :-) If you need assistance or advice, please feel free to request help from other administrators at the Administrator's Noticeboard and Administrator's Noticeboard for Incidents, or to leave a talk page message for me or any other admin. Again, congratulations! Essjay Talk • Contact 04:27, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Are the russian contributors above the rules? 3RRR breaking violation of User:Irpen
Are the russian editors above the rules? Why shouldn't that apply to all users? They reverted my edits and Bogdan's.
I posted his breaking rules on:

Please be cautious when blocking a shared IP for 48 hours. It usually only causes collateral damage for those others who wish to use Wikipedia appropriately and cannot do so because of the actions of others. Pepsidrinka 18:58, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Fantastic, so now you are an administrator! I would have come earlier, but could not on account of my sickness from 3rd April to 24th April 2006 resulting into my wiki-absence. I convey my congratulations to you on your elevation as an administrator, and wish you all the best! Have you ever seen me around? I am just curious! --Bhadani 15:17, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Could you help defend the ACW page intro when Rjensen reverts everything bit by bit? BusterD 19:20, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Currently there's a discussion of options about the introduction for American Civil War article. Would you be interested in offering critique/advice? We're acting like we care about consensus; I'm interested in hearing what you think might constitute a proper introduction. I was going for concise and pithy, but I built in too much reversion-bait. Others have offered suggestions, some quite good, and some dreck (that was the word used, I believe). BusterD 00:35, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
List of fictional brands in South Park
When you closed the AFD on List of fictional brands in South Park you forgot to remove the notice on the article page. Just FYI. Cburnett 18:42, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- My that's a lot of bluster. Keep on using you heavy-handed and superior edit summaries every time someone doesn't rise to your level of excellence - I sense you gain some satisfaction from it. -- No Guru 06:06, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
RfA Thank You!
Thanks No Guru,
I am honored by your support in my recent successful request for adminship. As an administrator, I am your servant, ready to help however I can. (In your case, since you've had the tools longer than I, my best use might be menial labor!) My talk page is always open; should you need anything, or should you see me making a mistake -- probably a common occurrence -- please do let me know. I will depend on the good sense of the community to keep me from making a complete fool of myself! :) In gratitude, Xoloz 15:37, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
VandalProof 1.2 Now Available
After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:57, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Baseball Cards
HI: I read your message this morning re: baseball card images used in articles. I thought it was okay to do so because I have seen others that have been similarly used and have survived deletion for quite some time now. I used the same rationale as those did, thinking that it must be the correct way to go. Also, I read the discussion page you suggested, and it seems that the issue is still being debated, and no consensus has been reached regarding this matter. Thanks for your time. Regarding the edit of Gordon Campbell
Hey. The use of "if any" in the edit made me think that it is giving it a POV, which is why I reverted it back. :: Colin Keigher 20:28, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Eric Van
I have trouble seeing the AFD at Eric Van added by 66.134.219.52 (talk • contribs) as being "improper" and suitable for reversion. Anon users can't complete an AFD nom "properly", so I have redone it. It seems like gushing soxfanwankery to me, but I shan't be expressing an opinion at the AFD. Angus McLellan (Talk) 21:42, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Help, please!
There are four articles all spamming for pictures of a girl who is "very sexy and have a good figure". An unregistered user is removing all the db tags, and since I can't prove he created the articles, I can't use {{drmspeedy}} on him. The articles are clearly speedy delete material, so could you just annhiliate them now?

IchessU
Hi! I am a student in IchessU. I saw that you removed IchessU.com from learning chess sites. IchessU is first real international chess universtity. IchessU is a very serious organization, specializes on giving live audio and video chess lessons. Actually, this is the only link in the list of learning chess links which is really rellevant to learning chess. IchessU main idea is to spread chess all over the world and to teach mostly kids in order to improve their skills. Mentining IchessU is a great service for people who really want to learn chess and much more rellevant and less advertizement than other sites mentioned there, like Exeter chess club. IchessU.com was also the company covered exclusively Blitz World Championsip, took place recently in Israel. They are very famous and serious education organization and not spammers. Please don't remove their links in the future.
Thanks in advance
Chess and James Mason
Thanks for fixing the link to James Mason (chess player). When I saw that the Chess page was linking to James Mason the film actor I should have checked to see if WP had an article on the right James Mason. 165.189.91.148 15:50, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Deletion 11th September 2006
You recently deleted information on Owen Traynor a watercolour artist from Tameside in England. The reson stated is "no notability claimed for this artist" Owen Traynor is a notable artist very well known and highly respected in his field. I believe your deletion to be unwarranted and I politely request that you re-instate him in Wkipedia. Should you require further details on Owen Traynor please contact me as i will be happy to supply any information you require. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hmorrison (talk • contribs)

IchessU unfair delisting
Dear Guru ! IchessU is very interesting chess site, related directly to the topics under which it was listed. It's NOT a commercial or personal-website link !!! Although am a student there but I am not paid for bringing people in. I just want people to know about the site. It listed under External links and is much more rellevent that many of the other sites there. If you remove IchessU from the list, I insist you remove other links as well, like chessguru.net or http://www.chessdryad.com/education/magictheater/index.htm I saw that you are an administrator and a recent changes patroller on the English Wikipedia. I didn't add the links back to the page until we clearify this issue, but please try to understand that it's not spamming. I agree that Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising but a site which suppose provide people with information and this is exactly what I tried to do. Please approve IchessU for listing.
Thanks in advance, Alik Fishman
IchessU
Dear Guru ! I apologize to bother you once again. IchessU indeed offers a few services for money but also many others for free. It gives free lessons in sponsorships programs and allows to play chess on its playground for free and without requiring any registration. I really believe that IchessU is a site may interest many people as it has one of the best FREE playgrounds + it's unique international chess university. IchessU is listed under external links and suppose just to provide people with information, as main Wikipedia purpose is. With your kindly permission, I return IchessU to the list. You are an administrator of this page - if this link causes negative reaction, it can always be removed later. IchessU link is a contribution and not spamming. Please understand. Thanks in advance, Alik Fishman
IchessU
Dear Guru ! I don't use Wikipedia for advertising. According to your attitude, there should be no links in Wikipedia at all !!! Why to remove only IchessU and leave others? What can be published on Wikipedia and what is forbidden? I want to appeal to your decisions - whom can I appeal? IchessU link is a contribution and not spamming. Please understand. Thanks in advance, Alik Fishman
ok, I will. But why you see this link as advertising and others not? It's just a link to provide information on rellevant topics. Please reconsider your decision.
Best regards, Alik Fishman
IchessU unfair delisting
Dear Guru ! I opened a discussion as you recommended and no one objected publishing links to the university. Again, if this link should be removed, than all other external links are to be delisted. Wikipedia indeed should be saved from spamming, but don't forget that it written by people and for people. I appreciate that you are an admin here, but Wikipedia is not your own property and you cannot take actions as you want neglecting other people opinions. Please try to understand and approve Internation Chess University links relisting.
Best regards, Alik Fishman
This is not correct. Do you really agree with the guy that publications on Wikipedia correlated with popularity? I think that it's rather a question of rellevance and potential people interest, than popularity. Especially while talking about something new and unique. I want to publish the link, it became a principle for me. I really dont want to argue with you. Both of us interested in clean non-comercial Wikipedia, but with rellevant and interesting information. And International Chess University completely fits those standartds. Lets make a compromise - publish a link for a month and if somebody objects and removes it, so shall it be. I see you live in Canada. I know that IchessU CEO also lives in Canada. I told him about your attitude and he even agreed to talk to you if you want.
Thanks in advance, Albert Fishman
