Talk:No Ragging Foundation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As it is being repeatedly attacked in wikipedia, let's first clarify a few points to possibly describe the Notability of No Ragging Foundation.
This is an organization working to abolish Ragging in India.
Ragging has been taking a great toll in India for long. At-least, 22 lives have been lost since 2000 due to ragging. Hundreds have been brutally tortured.
No Ragging Foundation is possibly the ONLY organization in India that is undertaking ground level movements against this gross human rights abuse.
The two other organizations, who have their long presence in wikipedia, have their movements limited only within the internet.
No Ragging Foundation is providing support to the victims as far as possible. It is arranging counselling and/or treatment for ragging victims as necessary. It is also undertaking awareness drives to make people aware of the human rights abuse that is going on in the hostels, at nights, every year...
For an organization like this, working with extremely limited resources in a developing country like India, it is not possible always to attract attention from the international media...
So this is not likely there in the knowledge of the wikipedia administrators.
But this is a platform that may change the future of India, one day. It is actually a group of youths including professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers... It is supported by the regional media and several other welfare organizations in the region.
No Ragging Foundation is Proud to have many distinguished persons as their patrons.
Hope, the wikipedia administrators would be kind enough to understand the importance of such an organization to changing the future of millions of innocent freshmen in India.
I just request your kind understanding of the struggle for a better future of the Nation.

Thanks for your concerns, however, Wikipedia is not a database to promote your beliefs, but rather to provide a free, unbiased, neutral encyclopedia. Unfortunately, this does not meet these standards, because Wikipedia is not a place to advertise your organization. While this sounds like a great cause that is worth supporting, the article has to be written in such a way that it can meet Wikipedia's policies for articles. Please consider first creating your article at User:Noraggingfoundation/No Ragging Foundation, and then have several Wikipedians look at your article before creating it, so that everyone can be on the same page and you can get the article off to a good start. (Having the article checked by another Wikipeidan can be done by placing {{helpme}} on your talk page, and a leaving a brief message for a sysop to check your article for style and neutrality.) Thank you and good luck editing! Curran (talk | contibs | random) 00:29, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
