"No Reason" is a song by Sum 41, the second track on their album Chuck. It was released as a radio single only (no video) at the same time as Some Say but as opposed to that song, it was released in Europe and the USA only and received much radio airplay, reaching #16 on Billboard Modern Rock. The song is the main track of the soundtrack of the movie Dirty Love. Before the movie Sum 41 released a non-official video for the single as a promotion for the movie. In an online poll, it was voted the best Sum 41 song, ahead of other popular songs such as Fat Lip and Still Waiting.

[edit] Overview

The song is known as the "epic ballad" of Sum 41 as, like We're All to Blame, it contains more politically and socially conscious lyrics than most Sum 41 songs. The band has not explained the meaning of the lyrics, but some theories say that they are about the people that take actions that they know are not right but continue anyway. The song is particularly recognized for the phrase in the chorus “when we all fall down it will be too late.” There are also parallels between some lyrics of the song ("Everything but time is running out!") There may also be some allusions to current ecological situations (namely, the oil crisis).

It was one of the first songs written for Chuck and has almost every sound style found in Chuck from pop punk to thrash metal. It is a song that was intended to have a lot of power, according to the band, and for that reason the song is more fast-paced than the other singles of the album.
