No Pussy Blues

(I Don’t Need You To) Set Me Free

“No Pussy Blues” is a garage rock song written by the Australian band Grinderman for the album of the same name. The song was produced by the band and Nick Launay and received a positive reception from music critics. The song was released as the band’s second single, yet it was the first song of the band available on their Myspace page. The B-side, "Chain of Flowers", was first available on the leaked version of the album from 2006, yet it failed to make the final tracklist.

The lyrics talk about the narrator's frustration as he describes how he tried every trick in the book to seduce a woman and sleep with her, only to be constantly rejected. When asked during an interview whether the song had a deeper meaning, Nick Cave replied "No, it's just about not getting any pussy.".

During an appearance on the late-night talk/variety show Late Night with Conan O'Brien on October 5, 2007 Snoop Dogg admitted to being a fan of the song, noting he is a fan of a song on Nick Cave's album, Grinderman, however "I can't say the name on the air."
