[edit] Concept

"No Place to Hide" appears to have various themes. One could be that while Jonathan Davis exposes his painful past to the world he has no secrets left, and no comfort zones. He feels raped because Korn is becoming the next big thing and the media takes advantage of him pouring his soul out. This theme follows that of the singles "Y'All Want a Single" and "Freak on a Leash" where he feels he is simply used by the music industry to make money.

[edit] Chart performance

The song is considered to be Korn's first single to catch the attention of MTV and gain reasonable airplay, especially in the UK. "A.D.I.D.A.S.", however, would capitalize on this success, having more longevity and higher chart positions in 1997.

[edit] Live performance

The song has been seldom played since the promotional tours surrounding the release of Life Is Peachy. It is notable for being Korn's first televised performance, on a French music show on February 20, 1997.

[edit] Music video

A video was not filmed; MTV compiled clips from Who Then Now? and the band's previous music videos in order for "No Place to Hide" to receive airplay on the station.

[edit] Awards

The song was nominated for a Grammy in 1998 for Best Metal Performance, losing to Tool's "Ænema". It was Korn's second nomination in this category.
