No Jumping On the Bed!

No Jumping On the Bed! is a 1987 picture book by Tedd Arnold. The Scholastic version was published in 1994. This is a story about when Walter jumps on his bed and falls through the floors.

This took place in an apartment building in the bedroom with Walter jumping on the bed. His father says, "If I've told you once I've told you a million times. No jumping on the bed!" Then Walter lays down on his pillow and sleeps and father says, "Good night!" and turns off the light and almost closes the door and there was a thump, thump, thump in the room. Then Walter turns on his lamp and jumps on his bed and falls to Ms. Hattie's dining room and falling into the plate of spaghetti and meatballs and then falls through another floor to Mr. Matty's TV room. Ms. Hattie falls in the lap and Walter falls in the aquarium. A dragon appears in the TV and they fall through another floor where Aunt Batty is unpacking with a Patagonian stamp collection in a box then they fall through another floor where Patty and Natty are with Fatty Cat building a dreamhouse with blocks and they fall through another floor. Then Mr. Hanratty was at a painting studio. Mr. Hanratty paints on the easel and they fall through another floor to the orchestra with Maestro Ferlingatti and the string quartet playing music. There's paint everywhere and Walter cleared anything in the building and Walter goes back to bed and he sees Delbert falling down with another bed.
