The single's video was filmed on June 26, 2006 in Sector La Perla, San Juan with Spanish rapper René Pérez (AKA Residente) of the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Calle 13. Pérez said that the single gave Furtado and Calle 13 the chance to become more popular in Europe, a goal of particular interest for Furtado because she is from a Portuguese family.[1]

The video was directed by Israel Lugo and Gabriel Coss, photographed by Sonnel Velazquez and produced by María Estades.[2] The video was released as the remix version that features René Pérez instead of the album version. It was released on September 6 through Furtado's official MySpace page,[3] and its television premiere was on MTV Tr3́s on September 4.[citation needed]

Even though not officially released in Canada, No Hay Igual has had substantial radio play on Canadian Club radio stations as well as pop radio. The video is also available on MuchMusic.com to be viewed all across Canada, as well the video has been shown across Canada on MTV in 2007.
