No. 292 Squadron is a Royal Australian Air Force operational conversion unit based at RAAF Base Edinburgh.

No. 292 Squadron was formed on 1 January 1977 as the Maritime Analysis Training School. The Squadron was renamed No. 292 Squadron on 27 October 1980.

Throughout its history the role of No. 292 Squadron has been to provide operational conversion training on the P-3 Orion to RAAF aircrew. After completing their training with No. 292 Squadron, aircrew are posted to either No. 10 Squadron or No. 11 Squadron. No. 292 Squadron also has a secondary role of providing air transport using Orion aircraft.
