No. 1439 Flight was a communications flight formed at RAF Hemswell on 1st May 1957. The flight operated T1 Varsity aircraft in support of the Nuclear Weapons Task Force during Hydrogen Bomb trials at Christmas Island. The flight was disbanded on 20th November 1957 after six months.
