Tutunska banka is a leading banking institution in the Republic of Macedonia with a steady trend of development and positive results since its establishment through to the present day. It was founded in 1985 and since 1993 it has operated on the market as a commercial bank offering all financial and banking services to clients in the country and abroad. The bank is considered a big bank and according to the total net assets, it is ranked third among the banking institutions in the country. The bank is the major financial partner in the development of and support to small and medium-sized enterprises and the leading bank retail lending institution. Also by means of partnership with NLB, the bank is achieving favourable business conditions for the development of SMEs, financing of investment projects and export arrangements, creation of new jobs, introduction of new technological lines and modernisation of production as well as support to export-oriented Macedonian companies. It is one of the most successful promoters of the Macedonia on international financial markets. One of the foundations of the bank's development strategy is also the provision of services for all aspects of financial operations of companies having established business relationships with Slovenia and companies with Slovene equity in Macedonia, thus boosting the existent trading between Macedonian and Slovene companies. The majority of Slovene equity investments in Macedonia are also implemented through Tutunska banka, which remains the bank's priority for the future.
In terms of its size, Tutunska banka is the third biggest banking institution in Macedonia. Since 2000, it has been one of the most successful member companies of the NLB Group.
