Talk:NKVD troika
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am overwhelmed by the sheer number of possible new topics linked to Soviet repressions, dealing exclusively with BIG facts, without any theoretical speculations of kind "good" vs. "bad" Stalin. Mikkalai 06:24, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Aleksandrovich
(В.А. Александрович) who the hell was he? I mean, what was his name? I know he was in SR's theka, and he arrested Dzerzhinsky during the Left SRs mutiny, and he was later assassinated (by whom?). mikka (t) 03:54, 13 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Troikas
The "background" paragraph is a bit of a grammatical mess, I think. For one thing, the English phrases in quotes contain the word "troikas" which is supposedly plural (english pluralization of a foreign word? not going to even go there), but according to my understanding of the language, the Russian phrases are singular. I don't trust my limited knowledge enough to pluralise them myself, and I also can't figure out an easy way to change the way the sentences work to make the 'English' words singular. And then, the word "troika" is used in the middle of a sentence ("Gradually troika were introduced in...") as though it is plural. That's a bit wrong, and that sentence is a bit confusing as well. I'm only making one change, fixing the comma-separated list at the end. Someone might want to rewrite this paragraph entirely, or otherwise change it somehow. 198.82.59.127 21:53, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
