Nkimi

Nkimi is a city in Equatorial Guinea. It is located in Centro Sur Province and has a (2005 est.) population of 3313.His first populators com from many places of the county, someone con from the North and others com from the BATA's villages coasts. NKIMI is a tribes´concentration town of FANG ethnic groupe. Now, the tribes that you can find in NKIMI are the following:the OBUK 35%,the ESENDENG 10%,the FONG 20%,the ESENG 10%,the ESAMOTUA 5%,the ESANGUI and ESESIS 10%.One of the founders Mr. ANDRES NDONG MIKO,from ESENDENG tribe, prophesyed to his brothers that the place where they planted coffee and cacao will converts in a great town in the future and this is NKIMI nowadays. Other local's leader were Mr. ESONO ASILA from OBUK tribe and NGUEMA NSUE from FONG ribe;the three leaders directed the village with a great understanding and coordination. The geographic structure of NKIMI is rectangular, the first Mayor, Mr. ESTANISLAO ESONO ASUE,divided the town in three neighbourhood associations;coming from BATA you arrive first to OBUK NKIMI,is the "B"neighbourhood association;then you arrive to ESENDENG NKIMI,is the "A"neighbourhood association, there the ESAMOTUA,ESANGUI and ESESIS live too, this is the town center, there are the Town Hall, the Police station, the Hospital, the school, the secondary school, many bar-restaurants, the pitch, the Parish Church, the 50 apartments with pavements of Spanish colonial construccion, also you can see how the river BENITO or WELE pass;there, you can see the NIEFANG mountains which belongs to the central mountain chain of country, really is the town's image. Finally you arrive to FONG-ESENG NKIMI,that is the "C"neighbourhood associotion. During the colonial hispanish time, the village was growing and was a strategic place for the Spanish Missionaies where after NKUE and NIEFANG they founded a School and a Church, was appointed teacher Mr. RAMON NGUI ABESO who entrusted the Church too. Other teachers were Mr. BARTOLOME NDONG OKUA,Mr. LAZARO ONDO NGOMO and Mr. SANTOS ENGONO MITOGO ANDEME.In the colonial time, the Spanish built 50 apartments in the village, with pavement everywhere, a public swimming pool, an electric engine and a running water installation which they not finish. The other image of NKIMI is the river BENITO or WELE,many people of the town lives thanks to the fishing. About fishing there are a small history of a local fisherman called Mr. ANTONIO SI NDONG OBIANG,each time that he went to fish called to her wives with a trumpet to load the fihs from the port. The NKIMI's fame have existed since colonial Spanish time and have been the envy of other villages included NIEFANG,the Capital town of Region.
