Thanks for uploading Image:Keyk.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Hi, I've uploaded your pictures of the launch of HMS Daring (Image:IMG 7183-01.jpg and Image:IMG 7240-01.jpg) to the Commons as Image:HMS Daring at Scotstoun.JPG and Image:HMS Daring (D32).JPG.JPG, so they are available for other Wikis, too. Hope that's been OK. Albion05

Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that Image:Keyk.gif was improperly tagged with {{pd-self}} when in reality it is used by permission. By order of Jimbo Wales, images uploaded after May 19, 2005 and used by permission will be deleted on sight. In the future, please make sure the images you uploaded are in the public domain, licensed under a free license, or are usable under fair use. Did you take this picture? I'm confused, because you both claimed you owned it and were releasing it in the public domain, and you selected that it is for non-commercial use only. This is contradictory; what did you mean?—Random832 00:10, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
