[edit] History 1992-2002
NJ Bloodline was formed in 1992. The original lineup was Mario (Guitar), Tony (Drums), Enrique (Vocals), Jim M (Lead Guitar) and Jay Crime (Bass). They recorded a self financed 5 song EP in 1993. By 1995 Jay Crime and Tony left and were replaced by Joey Priolo and Ray Chinowski (aka, Fat Ray-RIP), until they broke up in the Spring of 1995. Joey and Ray started a project with guitarist Frank Gallo. They recruiting Enrique on vocals and dubbed the project "DNC" (Do Not Cross). They enlisted Mario on second guitar in September 1995 and officially reformed as NJ Bloodline in October 1995. Ray quit in late November 1995 and was temporarily replace by Tony until in January 1996 Ian Cosgrove, formerly of Fat Nuts, was selected as NJBL's permanent replacement. Although 14 years old, he already possessed considerable talent, especially with double bass drumming. NJBL returned to performing in May of 1996 on a show with E-town Concrete, Strength 691 and Ensign in Scotch Plains, NJ. July of 1997, NJBL recorded their next release at Third Studio From the Sun in Wayne, NJ. Recorded in one weekend, the recording would be officially released in December 1997 as the "Be Afraid" EP on Red Cassette Tape. The EP sold quickly through word of mouth and within a month was available in Japan and Europe through distro chains, garnering interest from Kingfisher Records (a division of Century Media Records), RPP Records (Belgium) and Resurrection AD (NJ). In 1998, E-town Concrete signed with Resurrection AD Records and soon NJBL were offered a recording deal. During the negotiations with Resurrection AD, Kingfisher, who had signed Fury of Five, contacted NJBL and offered them a recording deal. However, during the negotiations process, Kingfisher was put out of business by parent Century Media records, all deals were shelved and NJBL started working with Resurrection AD who quickly became overburdened and failed to re-release "Be Afraid". By now, NJBL had sold over 3500 copies of "Be Afraid" EP without a label, management, or radio play. NJBL parted ways with Resurrection AD and contacted RPP Productions from Belgium. The "Be Afraid" EP was re-released in the Fall of 1998 on the RPP Records. Mario left the group in January 1999 and was replaced by Rei Fonseca, formerly of One4One, Elements DEC and Backlash. After their 1999 summer tour, Rei left on mutual terms to join Agents of Man. In 2000, a renewed Kingfisher contacted NJBL, expressing interest in NJBL recording full length album, while concurrently, NJBL was approached by On the Rise Records and Coretext/MadMob Records (Germany) to do a 3 band Split CD with Settle the Score (Germany) and Sworn Vengeance (CA). In between their Summer Tour dates in 2000, NJBL recorded all the material that would comprise both the "Faceless" LP and the Split CD at Third Studio From the Sun. "Faceless" was released in the Spring of 2001 in Europe and Japan through kingfisher and in the United States on Too Damn Hype Records. An extensive Summer Tour, booked by MAD Touring Agency (Germany), included such events as the "With Full Force" and "Dour" Festivals. After returning from Europe and completing their US summer tour with Settle the Score, Ian quit the group, returning in November 2001 to play what would become NJ Bloodline's last show in Kenilworth, NJ, with Sworn Enemy, E-town Concrete (In Full Effect), Shattered Realm, and December. After a failed attempt to find a suitable replacement for Ian, NJBL was dissolved through their website in May 2002.
[edit] 2002-Present
Enrique went on to front the Sacto Hoods (Sacromento, California). Joey moved to Huntington Beach, California and within the year restarted his side project, Libations. Ian moved to Costa Mesa, California. In 2003, Frank cofounded a new band, dubbed Homicidal, with Seth, Brian (Human Offense, Subzero, Merauder) and Mike the Bull (Bulldoze, Train of Thought) eventually recruited Enrique for vocals. After recording 3 songs, Enrique left to formed a new band with Seth, called Hell Brigade. By early 2006, Frank and Enrique had quit their new bands and Ian was living in New York state. Fellow NJHC alumni, E-town Concrete, contacted NJBL and asked them to perform at their "End of the Rainbow" weekend in May 2006, at the Starland Ballroom in NJ. Joey moved back to NJ to perform at the show, which lead to NJBL playing shows the rest of the summer. After a winter hiatus, NJBL flew to Essen, Germany in May of 2007, to headline the Filled With Hate Festival in a one-off exclusive appearance.
