[edit] Ain't It Cool News

Hi, you removed my changes in the Ain't It Cool News article. I'd appreciate it if you could add your reasons to the talk section of that page, or perhaps draft a different version of the factual information I put up there. It's not my goal to smear Harry; just to address some of reasons the site has been so controversial. Thanks! --Misterwindupbird 23:40, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Spamalot

66.167.138.29 08:35, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC): I re-wikified the names of significant cast and crew members (e.g. Tim Hatley, Hugh Vanstone, Casey Nicholaw, Larry Hochman) on Spamalot; remember, such links encourage people to contribute and helps identify Wikipedia:Most wanted articles. Please don't remove them again. Thanks.

[edit] Nevada-tan red room video

I agree with you on the screamer bit vice just a plain horror, but but the type of video is still called a shock flash. Perhaps you might want to add the link to it, as it's mentioned earlier in the article but probably would be useful to be brought up again.--Mitsukai 28 June 2005 12:48 (UTC)

You might want to consider redoing you answers to the three standard questions. You have my support.Gator (talk) 17:43, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fetch quest

I'm probably gonna put the collaboration of the week at Quest (gaming) and throughout the week merge the other articles there. I just wanted to say cause you nominated fetch quest. Thunderbrand 00:47, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:John_carpenter.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:John_carpenter.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. -- Carnildo 09:41, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Filmographies

There is no style guide for order. There is an inactive page which has no consensus. Zzzzz changed said page to suit his argument and use it authoritatively and delisted articles based on that. I am reverting what I think is bad faith editting on his part. Now you revert my revert and call it vandalism. You need to reevaluate what you call vandalism. 12:59, 6 April 2006 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cburnett (talkcontribs)

I'm having a little difficulty following your motivation here. Cburnett has reverted the article to its original appearance (that is, immediately prior to the change demanded by User:Zzzzz) while the business of antiquated v. current style guides is discussed. What do you find childish about this, especially when compared to your insistence that you must see the oldest-to-newest-ordered version? RadioKirk talk to me 13:11, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Edit: I reiterate, it is not uncommon in my experience to revert an article to its appearance prior to the issue that created a debate. More than once, you have chided another editor for "childishness" as a result; if you're incapable of assuming good faith, I would be more than happy to request administrator assistance. RadioKirk talk to me 13:25, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry i didnt realize i was changing your edits. I assumed it was the work of another user "cb" who has been throwing "bad faith" accusations around in edit summaries, shouting and screaming with CAPITAL LETTERS etc. After already cleaning up his mess once, discussing it on his talk page, and starting another cleanup operation i discovered he had removed several hours of my painstaking work. Understandably I didn't really appreciate it, hence the "childishness" remarks in the edit summary which were not aimed at you. Anyway everything seems ok right now so alls well that ends well. rgs, Niz 17:10, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the response. When I saw the reverts at Lindsay Lohan, Karen Dotrice and several other pages changed by or at the direction of User:Zzzzz, I was completely lost. When you made additional edits after my first comment above, I wondered whether I was being ignored for some reason. I now know that's not the case. Thanks again. :)
Edit: I have gone ahead and reverted Lindsay Lohan and Karen Dotrice. As I note in the latter's edit summary, the reversion seems correct because the change would never have been made had that user not referenced an antiquated, no-longer-used style guide. If you have any further input, please, feel free to pass it along. :) RadioKirk talk to me 18:37, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What the?....

Hello, please explain why Edward thingo of England is still an FA, after two declarations to remove. Tony 10:52, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

OK, I'm listing it for major review now. Tony 13:42, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GA template

What are you guys up to? I try to recognize users for good work and you trounce on it in minutes with no discussion or voting? There are a lot of people that want this and for you to kill it in minutes in this manner is wrong. I did not know of prior debates when I made it but GA is a firmly established concept now and there is nothing wrong with recognizing editors for trying to do more than write trashy stubs. And you ask me to remove a template and then do it yourself? Rlevse 11:54, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for removing the {{hangon}} template - I forgot to remove it after posting my explanation. --GW_Simulations|User Page | Talk | Contribs | E-mail 12:21, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

You should have allowed for a full discussion before ratting to Niz to delete it. ANd you wonder why users get upset at the deletionists. Rlevse 12:31, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What is a featured article?

Niz, if you want to revert to the pre-dispute version until it's sorted out, could you please go back to before Tony added it the day before yesterday? That is what sparked the dispute. SlimVirgin (talk) 13:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

the usual way of handling it is by discussing on the talkpage of the article in question (this was the precedent of the Andyz/Suggestions page). Niz 13:09, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Niz, you said the usual thing to do was to revert to the version before the dispute. But you didn't do that. You have reverted to the version that sparked the dispute. SlimVirgin (talk) 13:55, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unfinished work FAC

Discussion is vastly superior to reversion, and a lot more polite. Please don't just undo what someone does like that. I have relisted it and gave a reason - if you dispute that then put a message on a relevant talk page. violet/riga (t) 15:36, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

You don't do "communication" do you? Sorry, but your actions are simply offensive. violet/riga (t) 17:06, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Argento3.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Argento3.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 04:05, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Fulcicircle.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Fulcicircle.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Mario bava.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Mario bava.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Spamalot promo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Spamalot promo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:36, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
