Nizhny Lomov

Nizhny Lomov (Russian: Ни́жний Ло́мов) is a town in Penza Oblast, Russia, located on the Lomov River (Oka's basin), 109 km northwest of Penza. The population was 24,249 according to the (2002 Census), a decrease from 26,648 according to the (1989 Census).
Founded as an outpost in 1636, it was later known as Lomovskaya sloboda, Lomovsky posad, and the village of Nizhny Lomov. Nizhny Lomov has held town status since 1780.
