Nizamuddin East

Nizamuddin East is an upscale residential colony in Delhi, India. It is located on Mathura Road and is home to Humayun's Tomb, one of Delhi's most famous monuments. It is considered to be one of New Delhi,s greenest and most peaceful residential colonies. The colony having 286 houses, including Jaipur Estate, and 32 public parks. Nizamuddin East is home to one of the New Delhi's YMCAs, as well as the Nizamuddin East train station.

Inside the colony is a small center of the Arya Samaj. There is a small commercial strip in the colony, with several grocers, an internet and telephone facility, a tailor, beauty shops, a pharmacy, and a small eatery. The Resident Welfare Association has a Community Centre for residents with sports facilities like tennis, basketball, table tennis and pool.

Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, Election Commissioner, Navin Chawla, Artist, Anjolie Ela Menon, 'Rajya Sabha' Member of Parliament, M. S. Gill, Hotelier, Francis Wacziarg all reside in Nizamuddin East. The neighborhood is also popular, along with nearby Defence Colony, among expat journalists; including for example the BBC journalist Mark Tully lives in Nizamuddin East, together with his girlfriend.

The current Resident Welfare Association President is Asha Kohli and General Secretary is Rahul Sawhney.
