Nivola

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nivola is a literary genre created by Miguel de Unamuno. It is characterised by the lack of any great psychological development of the characters, the lack of a realistic setting, and a predominance of the idea of form. Some Nivolas also blur the distinction between author and character.

One of the most famous examples of the genre is Niebla. Others include Unamuno's Abel Sánchez, Amor y pedagogía and La tía Tula.
