- This is a Chinese name; the family name is Niu (牛).
Niu Jin was an officer who served Cao Ren. During a certain battle against Wu, Niu Jin chased Gan Ning back to Yi Ling Castle, but was surrounded by reinforcements led by Zhou Yu, and was ultimately defeated. Niu Jin then regrouped and planned a night attack against the camp of Zhou Yu, but in the end he was once again beaten, suffering another great loss.
