Nitrianska Blatnica is a small agricultural village sitting at the base of the Marhat mountain ,the tallest in the district(749 meters). Situated between Radosina and Vozokany on the main arterial route to Topolcany, the village boasts a moderate number of inhabitants 1315 who mainly work in the various local businesses, farm the land or in the local surrounding towns and areas. There has been a great influx in the past four years of settlers from other European states as "Blatnica" is known for it's calm quiet life in the countryside, yet close enough to Piestany and the motorway for those who want a bit more life. Night life in Blatnica centres mainly around the Kulak pub, run by the friendly publican Pat and is situated in the centre of the village while various other Pivnica's and taverns serve the more serious drinkers. Various shops and boutiques serve the dedicated fashion followers, whilst the local hunting fraternity covers the more rurally-minded traditionilsts. A small private museum owned and run by the curator Mike Davies (himself a European settler from Wales) is open by appointment only, whilst the village museum is open at seemingly random times and diplays historical artifacts from the village from bygone days. Recent famous guests include the Welsh opera singer Bernard Fox and also David Davies who choreographs many west-end shows after "learning the trade" with the Royal Ballet. The village lends as a tranquil escape for Dr.Jillian Fox (dermatologist), known for her pioneering work on Keratin and it's function in Public hair, whilst her lifelong friend J.VDavies Q.C., visits often, and can often be found in one of Blatnica's wine-wars, or coffee shops. Blatnica is not a village for the feint-hearted, as it's bustling trade in local grown produce at times can seem overwhelming, but for those with an pioneering spirit, the effort is usually surpast by the benefits!
