Nishimura & Asahi (西村あさひ法律事務所 Nishimura Asahi Hōritsu Jimusho?) is the largest law firm in Japan. Of course, it is one of the "Big Four" largest law firms in Japan.
The firm was founded in 2007 by the integration of Nishimura & Partners (one of the "Big Four" and founded in 1966) and Kokusai Bumon (International Division) of Asahi Law Offices.
Asahi's turnover among their foreign attorneys was always very high, and the firm was never known to properly utilize the skills of their foreign attorneys. Nishimrua and Partners on the other hand was well known for a respected, and fully functioning foreign attorney department.
Nishimura was formerly Nishimura & Sonata until Mr. Sonata was disbarred. Asahi's reputation in the foreign legal market for quality work is fairly limited.
The office is in Ark Hills in Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
