From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nishi (西区 Nishi-ku) is one of 24 wards of Osaka, Japan. It is to the west of Osaka city, and is generally flat. 80% of the area was destroyed by bombing in World War 2, and was not regenerated until the mid 1960s. [1] The ward contains the Central Osaka Library at Nishi-Nagahori Station (Sennichimae Line and Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line), and the Chinese Consulate near to Awaza Station (Sennichimae Line and Chūō Line). The Osaka Dome baseball stadium is also situated in the ward.
