Nirav Shah (born November 16, 1974) is one of the best cinematographers in India. He has been a cinematographer for a number of major box office hits in Hindi and Tamil. Nirav was nominated at the Screen Awards for Best cinematography for Dhoom(2005, Movie),His debut movie was Paisa Vasool(Hindi) , in 2004. He also proved to be a successful cameraman with his critically acclaimed Tamil and Hindi movies, such as Banaras (Hindi) and Billa (Tamil). Billa has been considered one of the best shot films in India. He has won the best cinematography award for his work in Dhoom 2 at the International Bollywood awards in the United States of America and the best Cinematographer award for Billa at the Tamil film historians award earlier this year. Director S. Shankar called Nirav Shah for the Shankar's Dream Project Robot but Nirav had rejected the invitation because he had already given his word to his friend Vishnuvardhan's Sarvam. Three of his films have been nominated at the National Award for the best Cinematographer, Banaras (Hindi), Pattiyal (Tamil) and Dhoom 2 (Hindi), Critics see benaras as a strong contender in this category.
