Ninjor is a fictional character from the Power Rangers universe, appearing in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series. He is the American counterpart of Ninjaman from Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, off of which Season 3 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers miniseries are based.

[edit] Character history

When Rito Revolto destroyed their powers, the Power Rangers sought out Ninjor for assistance. Ninjor gave them their Ninja Power Coins and gave them the Ninja Zords, and from then on assisted the Rangers in battle whenever they needed him. He was often captured by the villains when their plans required a power source of some kind. Ninjor resided inside a vase within the Temple of Power, which was itself located in the Desert of Despair. He was also the creator of the original Power Coins, the Battle Borgs, and presumably the Shogun Zords and the Aquitian Power Coins. It is unknown if he passed the knowledge of creating the Power Coins to Zordon so he could create the White Power Ranger.

While Ninjor is a sage, he has the mentality of a 20-year-old. He knows (some) of football and takes insults very personally. He hates being woken up by others and is very fickle when it comes to visitors. He is also very easily angered.

As a ninja master, Ninjor had a wide array of powers at his command. He had a large white cloud on which he rode into battle, and could disappear into puffs of smoke at will. He could also expand to the size of a Megazord (which he called "Ninjor Expansion Mode"), and was able to transform into a powerful samurai-esque Battle Mode, usually after saying "Evil makes me angry!". Normally, Ninjor wielded a katana blade in battle, but in Battle Mode, he could connect the weapon with its sheath to form a powerful lance. Finally, in Battle Mode Ninjor was able to generate and throw explosive fireballs from his hands, which were often instrumental in destroying Rita and Zedd's monsters. After the rangers were turned into kids Ninjor was returned to the temple not being discovered again. Once the rangers had the Zeo powers Ninjor was no longer needed so he remained in the temple. Ninjor was voiced by Kim Strauss, whose voice for the character was similar to Marvin the Martian's.
