[edit] preview
Re: Preview button Yes, I should probably use that more. It's just not a habit yet and I get things right 90% of the time. Of course, sometimes I wind up making more individual edits than I would if I read and re-read the text via preview multiple times. Too bad Wikipedia doesn't have a WYSIWYG editor. Preview is a pain in the ass.
Re: Edit summaries I don't understand your comment. Most of my recent edits have summaries. Sometimes I forget but I'm getting better. I've set the "prompt me when I have a blank summary" preference box set so t hat should help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Richardshusr (talk • contribs) --Hardern 08:10, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Energy portal
Hi! As a contributor to WikiProject Climate change, I thought you might like to be aware of the opportunity to contribute to the new energy portal, now that there is one... No need to reply. Gralo 17:22, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Invitation to join WikiProject Environment
Hi there, I notice your background and interests. I am seeking to expand the membership of Wikipedia:WikiProject Environment to create a more informed vibrant environmental community on wikipedia. Would you be interested in joining? If so please put your name down on the project page Alex 15:27, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] invitation to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games
Hi. I saw that you made some strategy edits in the Diplomacy (game) article. While the whole "countries" section will have to be heavily trimmed as original research and gamecruft, I want to thank you for the effort. You might want to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games where there is, among other things, a decent set of guidelines for what and how much should go into an article's strategy section. Dip has more published material (one reliable source and some hobbywide websites and some big archives of articles) than most games, but far less than chess. Barno 01:54, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] You may want to look at Debatepedia (wiki debate encyclopedia) debate on minimum wage
Noticed your contributions on the "minimum wage article". An large number of wiki users have been working on a similar article on Debatepedia.com - Minimum Wage in the United States Debate. Just thought you might be interested. Loudsirens 22:09, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] carbon footprint and ecological footprint
When I started to read these pages carefully, I noticed that there was much that was unsatisfactory. I have put in a few [citation needed] tags, improved some spelling and grammar, and removed some unhelpful rhetoric. However I am at the limit of what a non-specialist can do. I noticed that you put an offer to help on the discussion page. I would be pleased if you could reread the articles and make any expert additions that are necessary. Thanks. --Publunch 14:09, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- I will have a look at it in a few days. Thanks for noticing me. Hardern 12:19, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Energy portal & future selected articles
Hi! Over the past couple of months I've been spending much more time than I should developing the Energy portal, and intend asking for a portal peer review within the next day or so.
The portal provides a showcase for energy-related articles on Wikipedia. One of the most prominent ways is via a the selected article that is currently changed every 6 weeks or so. It would be good to increase this turnover, and with three Wikiprojects dedicated to energy-related topics and a good number of articles already written, I'd like to suggest that members of each Wikiproject might like to use the 'selected article' to feature some of their best work.
With this in mind, I'd like to suggest that your Wikiproject bypasses the normal selected article nomination page and decides collectively which articles are worth featuring - or these may be self-evident from previous discussions (or from here) - and add short 'introduction' to the selected article at the appropriate place on page Portal:Energy/Selected article/Drafts, which includes further information. Your personal involvement would be welcome!
Please make any comments on your Wikiproject talk page, my talk page, or on Portal talk:Energy/Selected article/Drafts, as appropriate. Gralo 15:54, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hi from Canada
Hi Nils. I saw your comment on whether Fred Singer should be in Category:climatologists and I've just been thinking about that. I'll comment on his talk page as well. Have you looked at [Scientists opposing the mainstream scientific assessment of global warming]? There, we've gotten stuck not being able to limit the list to scientists who've published on climate, so it is filling up with names from other fields who are against Kyoto--lots of geologists. I've started thinking about using the category tag on their bio pages to sort on area of study. How does that sound?Birdbrainscan 01:00, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wind farms in Germany
Hi Nils. I noticed you're "plugged into the energy portal" and I'm trying to get some info on wind farms in Germany please. I know Germany is a leading wind power nation, but have found little in English about specific wind farms. It would be good to see more articles in WP about German wind farms, and especially more German entries in List of large wind farms, and wonder if you may be able to help. Thanks. -- Johnfos 06:01, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hm, I'm somewhat familiar with wind energy in general, but have not deeper knowlede about specific German wind farms. If I find something, I will add it to the list. Hardern 11:49, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
