Niles McKinley High School is a four-year public high school in Niles, Ohio. There are three different languages that can be taken at Niles McKinley; Italian, Spanish, and French.
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 932 students and 46.0 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 20.3.[1]
Notable alumni include Ralph Infante, Jr., the mayor of Niles,[2] and James D. Johnston, one of the inventors of the popular MP3 music format [3].

[edit] Extracurricular activities
The school is the home of the Red Dragons. It has both a varsity and a junior varsity football team. The school also has varsity and JV soccer, volleyball, softball, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, and bowling teams. The Red Dragons also participate in Academic Challenge, English Festival, Speech, and Prep Bowl.
The Niles McKinley Red Dragon football team was started in 1898. It has been a prestigious team from its beginning. The Red Dragons were voted Ohio State Champions for 1961 and 1963. They were undefeated for 48 straight regular season games, from 1959-1964. The Red Dragons are in the Metro Athletic Conference, also know as the MAC. The MAC is made up of Niles, Howland Tigers, Poland Bulldogs, Canfield Cardinals, Salem Quakers, Campbell Red Devils, Struthers Wildcats, and East Liverpool Potters. The Red Dragons were once a part of the nationally recognized All-American Conference whose teams included the Massillon Tigers and Canton McKinley Bulldogs, two of the oldest high school football teams.
The Red Dragons also have a very prestigous band program directed by Mrs. Carla Dean and assistant directed by Mrs. Eleanor Chambers. The band boasts a roster of almost 150 students, and they have participated in events all over North-East Ohio and have been recognized for many fine art related awards and scholarships. The band cosists of: The Niles McKinley Red Dragon Marching Band, the Niles McKinley Symphonic Band, the Niles McKinley Concert Bands, the Niles McKinley Pep Band, the Niles McKinley Jazz Band, & the Niles McKinley Jazz Ensemble. The band also participates in the annual NE Ohio district 5 Solo & Ensemble competition, and has had students receive the honor of being accepted into the District 5 Honors Band [both high school and middle school] and the Henry H. Stambaugh Youth Concert Band, both very prestigous local high school bands.

- Tony Mason, coached the Red Dragons to Ohio State Championships in 1961 and 1963. He was elected to the Ohio High School Athletic Association Hall-of-Fame in 2002. Head Coach at the University of Arizona and University of Cincinnati.
