[edit] Questions about two articles

Hi, I was wondering if you would be able to look over a couple of articles when you have some free time. I added a WP:PW template to Callum Sprit, but I'm not convinced that he's notable. He's worked for a few promotions in Europe (most are redlinked) and won a few belts (all of which are redlinked). I didn't want to post this on the WP:PW talk page because that would most likely lead to deletion within the hour, but I was wondering what you thought. I generally oppose deletion, but the little content that does exist is so meaningless ("He has done a lot in 2 years." "He is a fun baby face.").

I am also wondering what to do with Triple X Wrestling (there is nothing pornographic about it). The article is cluttered with a bunch of sections, but I'm not sure which ones should just be removed. I think it could be a decent article, but it's a bit of a (fairly well-organized) mess right now. Thanks, GaryColemanFan (talk) 15:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox 2008

I understand were yer are comin' from, but I figured it'd be easier to have a second option that alittle different, kinda like WCW and the WWF. But I'm lettin' anyone who has a good idea on how to make it better edit it. Who know's, be kinda nice to have a "Sandbox Infobox Template" that we can experement with and see what we can do to make it better. Just a thought. --Crash Underride 00:50, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Have you noticed

That on WWE.com, they're promoting TNA Lockdown? O_o I just read earlier some rumour about the WWE website having been hacked. I guess that's what they're referring to: http://www.wwe.com/inside/industrynews/6544892

I wonder how long 'til it's fixed. Oh, and if it's not there when you read this, I have screenshots too. Bizarre. Th 2005 (talk) 17:40, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Looks like I was wrong. A couple of news sites (well, namely, ProWrestling.net, the new 'sister site' of PWTorch.com) are reporting that it's not a mistake. Apparently, the headlines and sources in "Industry News" are cherrypicked by an editor at WWE.com, presumably so as to not have bad press for WWE wind up in that part of the site. Still, it's weird that they'd promote TNA like that after taking that whole stance where they practically ignored every potshot, shoot and mere mention of them that happened in TNA. Every other headline on that section of the site is WWE-related except that one, too. Th 2005 (talk) 03:15, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Archiving Your Talk Page

Would you like me to archive your talk page? Also would you like me to make you an automatic archive box?--TrUCo9311 21:42, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh ok, thats fine by me. Now I fixed and cleaned up the event and aftermath section of No Way Out (2007) is it better now?--TrUCo-X 18:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh im sorry, I only wanted to keep the BG section as it was, as I was also cleaniing it up, but I think you reverted it right?--TrUCo-X 18:55, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Diva pages

Thanks for letting me know. That would be a cool article to work on and I'm sure after you go through it, it will have a very good chance at GAN. I will also give it a pre-GA review when you're done. I'm not too sure when I will get stuck into another Diva article due to real life commitments but whenever I get some extended free time I will try to tackle one. It's getting more difficult now to choose an article to work on but I may attempt the Beth Phoenix page next. Oh, and I never had Dawn Marie Psaltis on my watchlist until a few days ago, but looking at the page it is very good. You should be proud of all the good work you do. - Deep Shadow 06:43, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

I have a few days off this week and I was thinking that instead of getting started on Beth Phoenix's page, I would do an official GA review of Dawn Marie Psaltis as soon as you nominate it. I have never edited the article and I am not a member of WP:PW, so I feel that makes me an impartial reviewer. However, if you have any objections to me doing the review it is okay, I will not be offended. - Deep Shadow 04:46, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Steve Rickard, and Vicotr Rivera

Who are they? What makes them notible enough for an article? I've watch wrestling for most of my life and NEVER ONCE heard of them. Also the links for the NWA titles on Peter Maivia's page, I think only one would be enough, because what's the point in linking them ALL to the exact same page? And once again you put the REFERENCES list in the "Notes" section, if it was a list of "notes" it would be "Template:Noteslist not reference list. --Crash Underride 06:19, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

First, I coulda sworen that I left one of the titles linked to the NWA, and if not, sorry, I thought I did. Secondly, you're probably right that Rivera could get a page, now that you mentioned his tag run in the WWE, I do seem to remember the name, but not a face. As for Rickard, I honestly don't know about that, I would say that if he would have a link in the article is should just be in the infobox until then. --Crash Underride 18:43, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
And I can live with Victor Rivera bein' linked. To help out, I'll do some searches and see what I can get on him and maybe work on a page for him. --Crash Underride 19:37, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Peer review

Thank you so much for giving adding much needed fixes for Vengeance. I'd like to know if the wordings are correctly explained, per your suggestions at the peer review. Zenlax T C S 19:58, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for making it more encyclopedic. Does it have a chance on becoming a Good article? Zenlax T C S 21:05, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Do I wait no nominate or shall I do it now? Only reason I ask, is per here. Zenlax T C S 21:16, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the peer review reminder. Alright, I'll take your suggestions and wait. Thank you so much for responding to my call for Vengeance. :) Zenlax T C S 21:22, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Do you think SummerSlam (2007) is now ready for GAN? I'm still going to wait the one week policy, but I would like you're opinion. --Cheers, LAX 00:20, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Do you still want me to wait until Monday? --Cheers, LAX 00:53, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
True. I just wanted your opinion. --Cheers, LAX 00:56, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Template

Since no one responds on the project page, is it ok to create a template for defunct WWE Championships. I went ahead and created two examples in my sandbox. 1)Is it ok to create the template? 2)If so, which example is better?--TrUCo-X 21:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. I created the first one.--TrUCo-X 18:15, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:PW

I've been told you're a good reference point for all things wrestling: so with that in mind, would you like to do an interview for the Signpost's WikiProject report? Rudget. 15:59, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2008-03-10/WikiProject report - hopefully you won't mind doing three questions. :) Rudget. 11:37, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Stacy Keibler

Awesome. I will go over it this weekend as I have five days off work next week. I will do my best to give a thorough pre-GA review. - Deep Shadow 01:14, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

The reason I believe is because as a team, we do some of the best work around here. ;) :P I agree with you about letting this play out, as it will help us to understand more clearly exactly what an article requires to become featured. I'm very interested to see what some of the opposes (if any) will be concerning and also, regarding the issue about WP:PW articles not getting enough comments, I'd love to see how many responses this nomination receives (again, if any). - Deep Shadow 04:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
The article has been delisted already. Apparently the nominator is a sockpuppet. Here's a bunch of links: [1][2][3][4][5]. - Deep Shadow 04:42, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Hahaha exactly. As The Kliq editing stable uses their name from The Kliq backstage group, we would have to use a wrestling tag team name such as The Power Trip, Rated-RKO, The Hooliganz or even Vince's Devils. We can be cool with any of those. :P - Deep Shadow 05:48, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, sorry I haven't had a chance to review the article yet, but I really haven't had much time (my work roster changed and I didn't get those five days off). I should be able to do it on on Good Friday. - Deep Shadow 07:48, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pre-GA review

I made some minor fixes to things such as wikilinks but below is a short list of notes that I felt I should mention rather than try to correct myself:

  • The early life section contains a red link. I know red links aren't necessarily a bad thing but if the article being linked isn't going to be created, or has been red linked for a while, then it's safe to remove the wikilink.
  • In the World Championship Wrestling section, I'm uncertain of the Manual of Style regarding the line "at 5 ft 11 in". I could be wrong and this could totally be cool, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
  • The second paragraph of The Invasion and Duchess of Dudleyville (2001–2002) section is too in-universe.
  • In the Super Stacy and departure (2005–2006) section, the line "after a few weeks, her profile was moved from SmackDown! back to Raw" seems unimportant and, although I know this refers to WWE.com, it may be confusing to a reader unfamiliar with wrestling and that website. Also, the following line about her release could use a citation if possible. If not, just cite Vegas Magazine as mentioned in the article.
  • It's unclear whether Super Stacy is a nickname or a ring name, as it is listed under both sections, although it could very well be both.
  • The external links section contains links that probably should be placed in further reading.

That's all I've found. There really isn't much to criticise about this article. Great job! - Deep Shadow 15:56, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thomas Wilcher GAC

Thanks for your suggestion at Thomas Wilcher. I replied to all your comments individually on the talk page, but I just want to say that the breadth requirement will be difficult to meet for the stated reasons. I hope this does not keep the article from good status, but I understand if it does. Also, I explained a lack of specific page because I do not have the reference in front of me. I am traveling. Thus, I was not able to add it at this time. Feel free to reconsider the article at this time.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 21:16, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Randy Orton

Hey, I think the info. about Orton's favorite bands should stay. Cause, it happens to be something of Orton's liking and doesn't involve wrestling at all. Also, the only reason I bring it up, is because at Victoria's article it states she's a fan of motorcycles and at John Cena's page it states that he's both a Command & Conquer and Red Sox fan. But, I would like your opinion on it. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 04:02, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

It was removed. But, I did want to voice my opinion on the music thing. Also, is the lead written okay for Orton's article? Since, I basically took all major points to his career. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:01, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Nikki, I don't know how I can ever repay you. You did a great job and I will add Orton's article to the waiting list. Thanks, a whole lot. ;) Hey, would it be okay if I can run an example lead of Shawn Michaels article to ya? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:06, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Columns in references sections

I think I might be a little confused about what is meant my "columns". When I think of columns, I think about something like the "Championships and accomplishments" section on Jerry Lawler's article. Shawn Michaels' article appears to have one column in the "References" section. Am I just confused? GaryColemanFan (talk) 00:38, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

I think I see why I'm so confused. I'm using Internet Explorer, and according to Wikipedia:Footnotes#Resizing references, references in columns will appear as a single column in Internet Explorer. GaryColemanFan (talk) 00:46, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
I have another question that you might be able to answer. I've been looking at the stub articles some more, and I don't know what needs to be done to bring some articles up to start class. For video games, do you have an idea of what the minimum requirements for start class would be? I can't see much difference between WWE Crush Hour (start class) and WWF King of the Ring (stub class).
I'm also wondering about wrestling albums. WWF The Music, Vol. 4 is start class, but WCW Mayhem: The Music is stub class.
I'm really sorry about coming to you with all of my questions about stuff like this, but nobody else in the project has as much knowledge of article assessment as you do. If you don't know the answer, don't worry about it. Thanks, GaryColemanFan (talk) 06:02, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. I'm thinking about working on some of these articles, as getting them up to start class could reduce our stub total by 30 or so. And just to let you know, I am working on the Dark Angel article in my sandbox, so I haven't forgotten that commitment. GaryColemanFan (talk) 19:06, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Awesome, I'll add it right now. Hey, what needs to be "taken" out of the article, since its way too long. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 00:28, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
True. But, the feud with Vince and Shane McMahon seems to be a bit long. I tried fixing it, but it hasn't helped in shortening it. Thoughts? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 00:41, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I knew that was going to be an issue. I guess in some results lie PPV wins, it should be capitalized. The other, like his return in October, it should be lowercase. IDK, I don't think I make sense. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 01:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Alright, I'll try to look for some to replace. Thanks for your help on this. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 01:44, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

This may be good news or not, but the article is now 79 kilobytes long. Thought I should let you know. Also, I've replaced some refs., as what you told me yesterday. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:52, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Question about African wrestling articles

A couple of days ago, the creator of all of the African wrestling stubs removed the AfD templates that you placed. I put the templates back and left a warning. The templates were removed again by an IP address that only edits articles on South African wrestling. I suspect that Ajstyles tna roh is removing them under an IP address to get around his previous warning for removing the templates. Is there a way to find out if he is the same editor as 41.245.99.206? If so, does this constitute sock puppetry because it is being done intentionally to avoid a prior warning? Thanks, GaryColemanFan (talk) 19:15, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ivybridge Community College

Hi I see you're on the assessment team for WikiProject Schools. I need an assessment for Ivybridge Community College. Please find some time to assess this article. Bsrboy (talk) 23:58, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] neck kick choke

[edit] Retire or not?

Go here. BTW, if you think I helped in the Triple H article (If it reached FA status) Would you be so kind to add the userbox to my userpage? NimiTize 21:20, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] St. Louis Wrestling Hall Of Fame

Could you tell me how or why the page I created with the help from Larry Matysik was locked/labeled as possible copywrite infringement? Regarding the St. Louis Wrestling Hall Of Fame —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheMatManiac (talkcontribs) 05:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC) Until I get the documents from Larry himself to force you to allow the page...I removed the letter..now go away..thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheMatManiac (talkcontribs) 16:27, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stacy Keibler

I had actually just finished looking it over when I got your message. It looks like everything has been addressed, and I think it's ready to nominate. Don't feel bad about taking a while to get to it. I totally understand. You've done a great job on the article, and it should have no problem passing a GA review. GaryColemanFan (talk) 03:07, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Wow! I hadn't seen that we were mentioned. I saw that their newsletter came out today, but I decided not to read it. Thanks for pointing it out. I've become a little embittered by the process lately, as I've come across a bunch of criticism for two of the reviews I've done. It's nice to know that somebody appreciates it, though. And congratulations to you as well.
As for rollback rights, I'll probably take you up on that fairly soon. I want to read up on it a little first so that I'm sure that I know how to use it. One question: it doesn't automatically post warnings on talk pages, right? I know that Twinkle drives me crazy when people us it because it screws up so much and posts warnings on the wrong pages. I've also seen that Twinkle gives out incorrect warning levels, which is frustrating when I want to see someone blocked (their talk page has a manually-added Level 1 warning, a manually-added Level 2 warning, a manually-added Level 3 warning, and then an automated Level 1 warning left by Twinkle that prevents me from going to WP:AIV). Thanks for the offer, and I'll get back to you on that soon. GaryColemanFan (talk) 23:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
One other thing: 69.23.218.242, who posted personal attacks on your user page and my talk and user pages today (and then got blocked) seems to be the same as User:Tvp119. Both are passionate about moving the Money Inc. page, and the attacks on us weren't posted until 5 minutes after Tvp119 got angry at you. Again, I don't know if that constitutes sock puppetry, but I thought you should know who that Tvp119 and the user who posted an attack on your user page seem to be the same. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 23:58, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SummerSlam (2007)

I hate to be a dick, but can you please explain why some of our pro wrestling websites are reliable, here? I am having trouble explaining why and finding out how/why the sites are reliable. I would hate to have to remove them because then nearly every source would be from WWE.com, and there would be no source for the attendance or dark match that was held before the event. Thanks, –LAX 19:36, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do tonight. Nikki311 20:07, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
I just wanted to say hi, I don't think we have ever crossed paths here on wiki so I just wanted to introduce my self :) SexySeaSquid 20:37, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
That's fine, I understand. Anyway, would this help at all for 411mania.com? –LAX 22:13, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
For Pro Wrestling History? [6]LAX 22:31, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Will do. Thank you for all your help. –LAX 22:45, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey Nikki! Is there any change that I can get you to give Survivor Series (2007) a pre-GA review? iMatthew 2008 22:12, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Busy

Wow, you are a busy beaver; how do you have time for so much? Zenlax T C S 19:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

A reason I can't argue. :) Would you mind adding one more task to your list or are you full at the moment? Zenlax T C S 19:08, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
If its no bother at all, would you mind giving some what needed tasks for Backlash (2006), as I am trying to aim it to Good article criteria. Zenlax T C S 19:12, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
I will start on this task and see where it runs with it. Thank you for giving some of your free time to do this. :) Zenlax T C S 19:26, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Attachment therapy

Thanks for the review. i don't understand this comment though "All the refs should be taken out of the text with the refref template. The notes should be endnotes, not in-text." Do you mean in-line citations with page numbers or something else?Fainites barley 21:22, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. Some people prefer in-line citations but its difficult when you use one ref. so many times. What i've done on other articles (see Reactive attachment disorder) is put all the papers in the notes but all the books or big papers which are cited more than once as page numbers in the notes with the book in the ref. Fainites barley 18:28, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lucille Ball

I want to thank you for helping me out with the Lucille Ball article. I have so many things on my plate right now with things at the Smithsonian that I am trying to do all of this in my down time. I see that you have started doing some text edit. That was the last thing I was going to do, but I appreciate you getting a jump on it. This article has come a long way since I started working on it. It was in a real mess. Again, thank you!! Canyouhearmenow 01:04, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

I wanted to let you know that I just expanded the header of the article. IMHO, I think it looks really good. You may want to take a look at it and tell me what you think. Canyouhearmenow 01:40, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I may need your help at protecting this page from this user [7] The user continues to place an edit onto the article about Lucy's family history, but the source they are giving takes you to a subscription based website. I have warned them about it and I have reverted I guess 3 times now. This time they put an edit summary telling me that the page does not belong to me and for me not to touch it again. I have again reverted the edit and placed an explaination onto their IP talk page to inform them that if they want to keep the edit in, they must give us a tangible source. Can you please look that over? Thank you Canyouhearmenow 04:29, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I rewrote the header and fixed most of the things you asked me to do in the 3rd review. I also used the ISBN cite web on the books. You may want to take a look at it and see what you think. I rewrote the header using the suggested format you were asking for. I took out the fluff and gave it a straight forward read. I think you should like it. Canyouhearmenow 01:21, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for helping out with this article. I feel like I have been drug behind a car. LOL Anyway, I believe I will move onto either the Bob Hope article or the Jerry Lewis article. Do you think we can be brave enough to tackle another one together? If so, let me know and I will look at which one would be the easiest to get polished up.
