Talk:Nikon D70

Please see comment on Talk:Nikon. Is all of this really necessary? At the very least, starting to quote prices like this is surely over-the-top. Wikipedia is not a product catalog, nor a repository of press releases.
I aggree that it is not a product catalog, but the price serves as a historical reference to how expensive digital technology is today. This price refrence will serve a significant value to a reader even a year or two latter. Imagine the significance ten, twenty, a hundred years from now.
[edit] Regarding NEF Format entry that was removed
The information regarding Nikon's NEF format is accurate and informative, however I do not believe this is the place for the format to be discussed. The NEF format and its proprietary nature should be addressed as a separate topic, not as a gripe about the D70. To remain neutral, the proprietary nature of other camera manufacturer's RAW format should also be discussed, along with open standards for digital cameras.
For the record, I am for open formats for digital cameras. I have no problem with the discussion and the information on dcraw, I just don't think it should be located in this article.
[edit] Merge of D70s page
Merged the D70s page, as the D70s is an upgrade of the D70 and doesn't warrent a page of it's own. This may need to be tidied up a little. Refer also comments about products on Talk:Nikon_Corporation. The D70s page will become a redirect to the D70 page. -- Xagent86 23:53, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
