Talk:Nikolay Timofeev-Ressovsky
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think the most straightforward modern English transliteration of the name would be Nikolai Vladimirovich Timofeev-Resovsky / Nikolai Timofeev-Resovsky, and that's where the article should be moved.
On the other hand, NCBI Entrez lists his name as Nikolai V. Timofeef-Ressovsky / Nikolai Timofeef-Ressovsky. I would still suggest my variant, and I'm especially bugged by the double s, which does appear more on Google than the name with the single s.

- I would stick to the name he used himself when publishing his numerous papers in German and English (TIMOFEEFF-RESSOVSKY), including his chapter in Huxley's New Systematics. If he preferred it, and extensively used it, then it is not a matter of our taste to discard it. Alexei Kouprianov 19:35, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
