Nikita Romanovich was married twice. Firstly, with Varvara Khovrina (d. 18 June 1552), the daughter of Ivan Khovrin. Secondly, with princess Eudoxia Gorbatov-Shuysky (d. 4 April 1581), the daughter of Prince Alexander Gorbatyi-Shuisky. For a long time historians assumed that his son Patriarch Filaret (Feodor Romanov) was borne from the first marriage. However, studies of Count Vasiliy Meshcherinov proved that Fedor was eldest son from the second marriage of his father. His daughter Irina was married to Prince Ivan Ivanovich Godunov, other daughter Euphimia was married to Prince Ivan Vasilievich Sitsky. Euphimia and her husband were by force maked a monks in the reign of tsar Boris Godunov.

- I (and google too) don't know who is it, but RBD referred to his works as only source of statement about Rurikids mother of Feodor Romanov. Sure, needed more trustworthy reference. Kmorozov 06:06, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
