[edit] Playing biography
After winning the Latvian league with Elektrospludžu rūpnīca in 1966, Jermakovs joined the strongest Latvian football club - FK Daugava Rīga at the age of 19. With Daugava he played in more than 100 matches in the Soviet first league. In July 1966 he joined Krylya Sovetov Kuibyshev which played in the Soviet Top League but didn't make a single appearance there and decided to return to Daugava. Later he played a half season with Topedo Kuibyshev[1]. Jermakovs did score his share of goals for Daugava but he never shared the popularity of his partners in attack - Gunārs Ulmanis and Georgijs Smirnovs. He ended playing on a top level at the age of 25 (after the 1971) season and played a couple more years in the Latvian league with VEF Rīga becoming league champion in 1973-1975.
