Nikola Miodrag (born January 27, 1987) is a Serbian-Canadian football (soccer) player who currently plays for the Toronto Lynx.
[edit] Playing career
He first played soccer with Cardinal Leger Catholic Secondary School in Brampton, where he won the OFSSAA in 2003. He played for North York CS Azzurri in 2001, where he had career highlight in scoring three goals in final of Robbie International Tournament defeating Dixie SC and earning MVP honours. In 2006 he played for the Hamilton Serbians.
On March 15, 2007 he signed for the Toronto Lynx, and made his debut for the club on May 12, 2007 against the Western Michigan Edge. Midway through the season he left the Lynx to sign with the Canadian Lions making his debut for the club on July 6. He helped the Lions reach the CSL playoffs but lost in the quarterfinals to St. Catharines Wolves.
On March 1 , 2008, he was offered an open tryout with Toronto FC of the MLS, where he is currently vying for a spot on the 22 man roster for opening day. Relatively unknown outside of Toronto, Miodrag boasts exceptional ball control with an equally blistering shot using both feet. His pace is quick and is known to be at the right place at the right time. A chance at the professional level will quiet his critics once and for all.
