Nikki Sinclaire

Nikki Sinclaire is one of the UK Independence Party(UKIP) longest serving high profile members and has held many positions including its Head Office Manager (1999-2001), a member of the party National Executive Committee(NEC) and Party Secretary

Her time in UKIP however has been embroiled with controversy. In 2001 she was dismissed from her position as Head Office Manager by then Party Secretary Michael Harvey. In the same year she was disqualified from the NEC shortly after being elected by the Returning Officer and Party Treasurer John de Roeck. Sinclaire took a successful case to the Employment Tribunal and in 2003, representing herself took UKIP to the High Court successfully overturning her disqualification to the NEC. In 2004 she became Party Secretary which she later resigned to become Mike Nattrass Political adviser.

Sinclaire has twice stood for Parliament in Medway 2001 and Halesowen and Rowley Regis in 2005

In 2005, Nikki Sinclaire she was punched to the ground in a demonstration against the proposed EU Constitution in the European Parliament.

Also, during the election campaign of 2005 she was arrested after not leaving a debate, "Queer Question Time"(a debate for political candidates to discuss issues related to the gay community) that Nikki Sinclaire was not invited to attend. [1]
