Nikki Hornsby is a BMI affiliated pop/Americana/country singer-songwriter and guitarist.

Nikki Hornsby was born in Long Beach, California, but grew up in Northern Virginia. Starting in high school she played paying gigs in the eastern US & worked as well in this field while attending Scared Heart & Belmont college in North Carolina as well as the George Mason University in Virginia as a Psychology & Theology Major.

She moved back to California in the mid 1970s playing regularly full-time, but did not begin to record until the late 1980s when she accepted offers to record her songs. She first marketed her songs throughout Europe on commercial radio stations obtaining a number one song titled "One Way Ticket" in Mallorca, Spain noted in the ACM newsletter as well as other print publications in August 1988 (page 4 ACM Newsletter). Around that time she also was getting Northern European airplay as well for three other commercial releases. In the 90's, a song of hers entitled "Shoe String and a Prayer" obtained radio airplay in USA while her previous released songs continued to play in Europe; "Shoestring & A Prayer" hit the independent & major (Cashbox Top 100 #78 1989) country charts in America and in other radio reporting trade publications for example: #1 for the entire month of August on THE MUSIC REVIEW TOP 30 INDEPENDENT CHART, NY., #3 on the TOP 30 (IRC) DEBUT INDEPENDENT RADIO CHART, NASHVILLE, TN,#11 on the CASH BOX INDEPENDENT CHART and a #14 INDIE BULLET MAG. TOP 100 CHART, TYLER, TX.

From previous original song releases for example, "Let Me Take You On A Dream", "Hungry for Love", "One Way Ticket", etc. Nikki Hornsby was named Female Singer of the Year in Scandinavia in 1988.[1] In her career as a soloist, leader of a duo & trio, her back up band that she formed was known as "The Rangers" performing in concert. But in the 1990s she started recording as a solo singer-songwriter musician in studio along with musicians like Steve Duncan, Jack Daniels, Jay Dee Manness, John Jorgensen, and Al Bruno.

In the early 1990s, she continued performing with her band and also as a duo, trio, or soloist at various venues in the U.S. One club venue including the Alpine Village in Torrance, California.[2] In August 1991, Nikki Hornsby's concert drew the largest crowd of the summer at Redondo Beach's summer Concert in the Park series.[3] Nikki Hornsby and The Rangers played the Concert in the Park series again in August 1993.[4] In August 2001, Nikki Hornsby sang at the Cliffie Stone Memorial Jamboree in Santa Clarita, California.[5] Hornsby also acts as a judge for a number of California country music competitions[1] as well as the National Colgate Talent Roundup for a number of years. Dr. Laura Schlessinger used her tune "Hot Talkin' Big Shot" for several years on her radio program as cue music as well as for a national radio commercial.

Hornsby records for her own label, CJP-NH Records. Nikki co-produced and arranged her latest CD called "Just Wait" with Marty Rifkin. Nikki traveled throughout Europe in 2005 and 2006 test marketing this CD along with other original songs. Performed the break out commercial release at the International Automobile Assoiciations annual event in Frankfurt Germany which was broadcast European wide through Truck Radio. That same year Radio Eurohertz www.countryhome.de/ch/wyrostek/berichte2006/nikki_hornsby_bei_radio_euroherz.htmin Eastern Germany near the Chez Republic boarder invited Nikki to perform a two hours show of her original music only. Nikki appeared on TV in Spain IB3 April 2006 as well as numerious live radio performances in Palma de Mallorca.[6]

As a BMI associated songwriter, Nikki Hornsby has written over 300 songs, some of which have been used on radio, TV, & movies. Her family association with the late Jimmy Van Huesan, song writer for Frank Sinatra & many others, can be found in the Library of UCLA in Los Angeles CA.

Nikki joined the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences as a voting member, also known as the Grammys, in 2006. The NARAS committee placed music from Nikki Hornsby's commercial charted "Just Wait" CD on the first ballot in 2007 in 8 different categories.

Nikki Hornsby is the granddaughter of the Columbia Recording artist Dan Hornsby who was also a musician, producer, singer-songwriter, recording artist and radio WSB DJ as well as A&R representative inducted posthumously into the Atlanta Music Hall of Fame in 1986.
