Nikki Haskell is a diet advisor best known for her StarCaps diet system. Haskell is the founder of Balanced Health Products and the creator of the StarCaps diet system, one of the oldest and most successful products of its kind; being all natural StarCaps never ran into any of the problems that fad products have. The product has been on the market for 25 years. People magazine states that StarCaps are the "favorite of the red carpet set". The pills have been featured in dozens of publications and entertainment shows including Entertainment Tonight, and the The Tyra Banks Show. Entertainment Tonight says that Jack Nicholson and Melanie Griffith are fans, other fans include supermodel Beverly Johnson, and Joan Collins. Balanced Health Products also produces the StarCruncher, a resistance exercise item which comes with an instructional DVD (shot at famed producer Robert Evans house) and features astronaut Buzz Aldrin, supermodel Beverly Johnson, and Joan Collins. Balanced Health Products also sells healthy candies StarSuckers, and the NikkiBar. Haskell has many celebrity friends and endorsements for her products. However, she was featured in Spy magazine in the late 1980s and early 1990s which ridiculed her pills alleged "diuretic" effects.
Haskell was one of the first female stockbrokers on Wall Street working for Drexel, Burnham, and Lambert and was named "Stockbroker of the Year". Haskell then moved on to the entertainment industry creating The Nikki Haskell Show, which she also produced and hosted. The show initially was to be co-hosted with Egon von Furstenberg. The Nikki Haskell Show ran for 300 episodes on early cable television and is considered a forerunner to shows like Entertainment Tonight and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The Nikki Haskell Show was on location in countries around the world covering Carnivale in Rio - where Haskell danced with a massive headdress high atop a float in the Samba School Parade, the Cannes Film Festival, and was one of the first shows to cover the fashion shows Carolina Herrera, Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta, and Calvin Klein. Haskell also interviewed dozens of celebrities and international figures including Ferdinand Marcos, Imelda Marcos, Liza Minnelli, and Joan Collins to name a few. Haskell was the first to interview Donald Trump and his first wife, and close Haskell friend, Ivana Trump as well, she was the last to interview actor Peter Sellers, the interview took place at the legendary Hotel Du Cap shortly before he died. Many episdodes were shot in the world famous Studio 54, The Nikki Haskell Show was the only show ever allowed to shoot at the club - where Haskell hosted many parties there including ones for Michael Jackson and Liza Minnelli.

Haskell has made many appearances on The E! True Hollywood Story series speaking on a variety of topics including Studio 54, Donald Trump, Robert Evans, The Village People, the Cotton Club Murders, Hollywood Diets and Trust Fund Babies. She was also featured on the Biography Channel's documentaries on Ivana Trump, and Joan Collins. Haskell is also written about in close friend Andy Warhol's Diaries, Andy Warhol's Party Book, The 100 Most Important Women in the World, The Last Party, New York Confidential, and many of famed photographer Patrick McMullan's books including Kiss, Kiss, So80's, and Glamour Girls.
Haskell is the author of the Star Diet Book published by Kensington Publishers, now in its third printing. Haskell is also known for her billboards touting StarCaps on Sunset Boulevard which have been a staple of the Sunset Strip since 1991; the billboards are put up on Regency billboard locations. The billboards feature Haskell sitting atop the StarCaps letters which are spelled out to look like the Hollywood Sign. Haskell won the 2001 Sunset Strip Star Billboard Award.
Haskell is an internationally recognized hostess hosting parties in New York, Los Angeles, Cannes, Miami and other international cities.
Haskell is currently in development on a new untitled reality show featuring her life which will include many of her celebrity friends.
Haskell was born in Chicago and raised in Beverly Hills; she divides her time between New York and Los Angeles.

[edit] Controversy regarding the StarCaps diet system
In November/December 2007 number of the Journal of Analytical Toxicology, researches from the Univerity of Utah reported that StarCaps diet pills were found in analysis to contain a strong prescription diuretic bumetanide. StarCaps diet system is marketed with a claim that the product contains only natural cleansing agents and it is emphasized that it is free from traditional appetite suppressants such as sympathomimetic amines. However, no such disclaimer is made concerning diuretic agents.
