Nikica Jelavić (born August 27, 1985 in Čapljina, Hercegovina, Yugoslavia) is a Croatian footballer, currently playing for the Belgian club S.V. Zulte Waregem.
His first club was local side GOŠK Gabela, which plays in the Bosnian and Herzegovinian league system. His career took a more serious turn when he moved to the nearby cross-border club NK Neretva from Metković managed by Branko Gutić. At the encouragement of Ante Prco, Ivan Gudelj, Dražen Mužinić and Vilson Džoni he was brought to Hajduk Split's junior side at the age of 15.
He played his first match for Hajduk's senior side in the Prva HNL at the age of 17. In 2007 it was reported that Croatia national team coach Slaven Bilić would call up Jelavić for Euro 2008 qualifiers.
The season 2008/2009 Jelavic will play for the austrian champion Rapid Wien. The forward signed a contract for one year.
