Nik Daum (born December 22, 1979 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is a visual artist/designer/art director currently working in Portland, Oregon.
Daum graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 2001 with a BFA in Illustration. He has become established as an artist through doodling and for his art direction on advertising campaigns for Target [1], Old Spice [2] [3] [4], and Careerbuilder.com [5] [6].
Daum spent most of his early life studying and creating art. From grade school through high school he participated in visual art programs through the magnet schools of the Dallas Independent School District. After graduation from college, Daum continued to work as an illustrator in his free time while seeking full time employment in advertising. Daum’s artistic work is usually of mixed media, and frequently includes meat, nudity, puns, humor and morbid subject matter.
Daum's work has been published in GOOD Magazine (Issue 007 Nov/December 2007, pg. 116), Empty Magazine (Issue 10, pgs. 102-103), ADWEEK (Vol. XLVIII No. 38, October 22, 2007, pg. 30), and 'Boards Magazine. He has a book of poetry and a book of doodles published through Lulu.com. In 2007, he was named an "emerging talent" by ADWEEK [7].
