Nijam(Truth)(Telugu: నిజం) is a Telugu film released in 2003, starring Mahesh Babu. Teja directed this film. Mahesh Babu won the Nandi Award for Best Actor for this film.
This film talks about an innocent boy, who along with his mother undergoes injustice and also loses his father in this process. The mother in this situation plays the role of a trainer and a guide to her son in making him strong physically and emotionally to fight back.
The criminals involved in the crime of his father's death are killed one after the other by the mother and the son in a planned and scientific manner. The director and the actors played their roles effectively. The music lacked hold on the audience and the story though a stereotype was tried to be told in a fresh manner, otherwise the movie proves to be a good director's treat.
The innocent boy's role was handled well by Mahesh Babu's acting. His facial expressions, body language and looks suited the role he played and he stands as the backbone of the movie and once again proved himself to be a director's actor.
The movie was slammed by critics and was an utter failure. Teja could not deliver success after Jayam.
