Nihon Keizai Shimbun (日本経済新聞? lit. Japan Economic Times), or Nikkei (日経?), is one of the largest media corporations in Japan. Nikkei specializes in publishing financial, business and industry news. Its main news publications include:

  • Nihon Keizai Shimbun, a leading economic newspaper which calculates the Nikkei 225
  • Nikkei Kinyu Shimbun (Nikkei Financial Daily, finance newspaper)
  • Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun (Nikkei Business Daily, industry newspaper)
  • Nikkei Ryutsu Shimbun (Nikkei MJ, Nikkei Marketing Journal, commerce newspaper)
  • Nikkei Weekly, an English newspaper

Nikkei sells these newspapers around the world, in their original languages and in translation. It also makes many of its Japanese articles available in English through wire services, an English language website, and a licensing agreement with LexisNexis.

Nikkei also owns TV Tokyo and Nikkei CNBC, which provides coverage of the Japanese market during trading hours and rebroadcasts CNBC during off-hours and weekends.

The company was founded in 1876 when it started publication of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun is Nikkei's flagship publication and the world's largest financial newspaper, with a daily circulation exceeding 3 million.
