Nigra

The word nigra is originally an inflected form of the Latin word niger (meaning "black"). It has the meaning of "black" in several senses:
- Substantia nigra, a portion of the brain associated with dopamine production
- Ulmus 'Nigra', a Wych Elm cultivar

The word "nigra" is also a derogatory term for African-Americans derived from the word "niger".
