[edit] Plot

Las Vegas - the town where fortunes can be lost, or won. For down and out cab driver Jerry Logan (Andrew McCarthy), his fortune was just won, or so he thought.

After finding a million dollars in the back of his cab, Jerry decides to skip town fast and start a new life before the rightful owner can find him and the money. But Jerry soon finds out that fast isn't soon enough and that he's being persued by the mob's most relentless hired gun, David Eckhart (Scott Glenn).

Eckhart soon tracks Jerry down and the chase begins as Jerry, who never had a reason to live, is a caught in a game of cat and mouse where the slightest error could cost him his life. Determined to outwit Eckhart, Jerry enlists the help of Chris (Janet Gunn), a nurse who patches Jerry up after a close call. On the run and with no place to hide, Jerry devises a plan that will rid them of Eckhart. But, can they stay alive long enough?
