NightOwl Convenience Stores is a franchised system of stores based in Brisbane, Australia. The first store opened in early 1975 in Auchenflower Brisbane and was the first convenience store in Australasia to trade 24 hours a day.

Started by a former Woolworth's Store Manager, the Auchenflower store offered an extensive range of traditional supermarket grocery items together with fresh fruit and vegetables and hot BBQ Chickens. Servicing the growing Student and Yuppy dweller the business was so successful that in 1987, the concept was franchised.

In 1995 the business was sold into a public company float and became a part of what was then known as Retail Services Limited (RSL) along with a technology company, a services company and a media company.

The NightOwl business was purchased from the public company by Landmara Pty Ltd on the 13th of September 2001 becoming once again a 100% Australian Private business. Senior Management was changed and the business re-aligned to focus once again on growth. The group now has 45 stores and is continues to grow. One of the key growth areas for NightOwl has been Cairns in North Queensland where there are now five stores franchised to the one Multi-Site Franchisee (MSF).

Three stores are located in Sydney with the balance in Queensland. Stores are typically 150 square metres in size and unlike its major competitor the American 7-11 group, NightOwl has only one fuel outlet and continues to stock an extensive range of grocery items, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as hot roasted chickens in many of the stores.

NightOwl has recently introduced a 'franchise within a franchise' and opened an 'Eagle Boys Express' Pizza business inside one of the Cairns stores. This trend was popular in the early nineteen nineties when BP in particular was known to have other franchised businesses within its convenience stores.
