Nigel Lamb is a renowned English aerobatics pilot.
Nigel Lamb was born on August 17, 1957 in Zimbabwe (then Southern Rhodesia, part of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland). He was inspired by his father, who was an Royal Air Force fighter pilot in World War II. At his age of only 11 years in Rhodesia, he sent a letter to the Rhodesian Air Force writing that he wanted to become a pilot.
Shorthly after finishing his school, Nigel Lamb joined the Air Force to fly helicopters during the late 1970s.
In 1980, Lamb left the Air Force as an instructor and moved to England to join a professional air display team. Since then, he took part in more than 1,500 air shows around the world. He was captain of the "Golden Dream" aerobatic team.
Nigel Lamb made his debut in 2005 at the Red Bull Air Race World Series in Longleat, United Kingdom, and competed in only three legs.
He also featured in some major movie productions as a stunt pilot flying a variety of historical aircraft including a Spitfire, P-51 Mustang and a P-40 Kittyhawk.
Nigel Lamb is married to a successful aerobatic pilot Hilary, and together they have three sons, Max, Daniel and Ben.
He enjoys skiing, scuba diving and squash.
