Nigel Brown

Nigel Brown (born 1949 in Invercargill) is a New Zealand painter whose work is mainly about the history of New Zealand and its natives.
In the 1970s, he was inspired by expressionism and inf luenced by painter Colin McCahon. Brown's paintings use a lot of brown and black so that they look natural.
Brown's work use s a lot of symbolism][][]. His axeman, who wears a black singlet, represents colonisers. His dog represents a strong se nse of self. He uses kites and rockets to represent deep though ts and high spirituality.
Nigel Brown (born - Nigel Seaton Brown - 1944 Oxfordshire, England) emigrated to Canada in 1968. He was a financial advisor 1972 - 2000. He then became a pioneer of the life planning philosophy in Canada and formed his own organisation Life Planning Matters (http://www.lifeplanningmatters.com).
He now lives in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
Brown was the founder of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Canada in 1983.
