Nigel Barr is a British musician. He has played bass trombone, sometimes euphonium, and occasionally, tuba, in the Michael Nyman Band since 1988. He has also served as Michael Nyman's "artist representative" (manager) from 1992-1997.

After growing up playing in the High Wycombe Salvation Army band, in 1980, he went to the Guildhall School of Music and studied trombone with Peter Gane and Denis Wick during that time he was also a member of International Staff Band (1980-1982) playing bass trombone.

He founded and ran Barrlines Ltd, manufactutrers of leather gigbags for fifteen years, though it has since ceased operation.[1]

He is married with three children and continues to live in Hughenden.
