[edit] AfD nomination of Zelezny

I have nominated Zelezny, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zelezny. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? SynergeticMaggot (talk) 00:17, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I am still editing and adjusting this article to fullfil the requirements of Wikepedia. Niels Aage (talk) 21:20, 29 May 2008 (UTC)NielsAage

Don't worry too much about the AfD, she's obviously a notable sculptor, although her days were the early part of the 20th century, and she's not much presence on the web. She has works in the collections of multiple major museums, and she could not have this if she were not notable. However, the article looks awful the way you've added the pictures, please consider formatting them. I will move them to the talk page for now, then, please, either you format or allow someone else to format. --Blechnic (talk) 21:25, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, that was some nice work saving this article. It's good to see AFD having such a positive result. Cheers Kevin (talk) 01:45, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images

You've uploaded photos of sculptures on the Commons and released them under GFDL. There are two copyrights: 1) the photographer 2) the sculptor (or the sculptor's estate). Unless you have cleared both, you cannot put them on Commons, or they will be deleted. You can put them on wikipedia, release copyright 1 under GFDL, but copyright 2 can only be used under "fair use" claims. If copyright 2 is cleared, it must be notified per Wikipedia:Requesting_copyright_permission#When_permission_is_confirmed. Ty 03:24, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

The artist died in 1974 and left no close relatives to my knowledge. Her husband John Zelezny died already in 1957. [1] The pictures published are taken from her own books (5) which are all in my possession. I would not know where to seek copyright. Therefore I consider the pictures "public possession" Niels Aage (talk) 05:39, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Niels Aage

I'm afraid that doesn't work for wiki, unless you can prove that they are now public domain. Otherwise we assume the copyright belongs to someone. Ty 06:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
