Nieuw Schokland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nieuw Schokland is a future town in the Netherlands, to be built in the Noordoostpolder of Flevoland. The town will be located near the village of Nagele and the former island of Schokland, from which its name is derived. The municipality of Noordoostpolder, the province of Flevoland and a housing corporation approved the plans for the new town in December 2006.[1] The first of a total of around 2,000 houses are expected to be finished in 2011 or 2012. The facilities of the town will be geared towards senior citizens, and will include amongst others a golf course and a marina.
