[edit] RE: Nicole Jordan Article
Hi there,
Okay, I see that there's a bit of a mess here but I think we can clear it up. I think the root problem is that you chose the username Nicole Jordan. When people (such as myself) saw that you were creating an article on Nicole Jordan using that username and that the article read a bit like the blurb on the back of a book cover we assumed that the article was an advertisement created by the author. This is why Wikipedia policy, specifically Wikipedia:Username#Inappropriate_usernames forbids users from taking the names of "well-known living or recently deceased people" unless they are that person.
Since you aren't Nicole Jordan, the first step towards clearing this up is for you to change your username. This is pretty easy to do - just follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Changing username. Once this is complete, drop a note on my talk page and I will try to get the Nicole Jordan article unprotected so that you can recreate it. We can recover the deleted content if necessary. When you're writing the new article, I'd strongly advise you to read up on Wikipedia policy to make sure that your article doesn't get deleted again. Specifically, you should take a look at neutral point of view, no original research and verifiability. Based on a quick google search I don't think there's any question that Nicole Jordan is notable to be included in Wikipedia, so as long as the article complies with the three policies above it shouldn't be deleted again.
I'm sorry for the confusion. I know that it seems like we have a lot of rules, but we are trying to maintain an enormous encyclopedia that is constantly vandalized. Sometimes we get overzealous in our efforts to control quality. It is relatively common for new users to have trouble understanding our policies, so I hope you won't feel bad about it.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. GabrielF 08:04, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
